Welcome to Cartha

launch

After long-awaited anticipation — the rebirth of Cartha is here.

How we got here

I spent over two years building a mental health company. I believed in it deeply. But over time, I came to understand the reality of that space — the regulatory walls, the clinical barriers, the sheer difficulty of doing it the way I had envisioned. It became clear that the path I was on wasn't going to get me where I wanted to go.

So I had to step back and ask myself: what do I still care about? What can I build that actually matters?

The answer was clear. I still had a deep passion for spiritual wellness and for the Christian community. And I realized the pivot wasn't giving something up — it was going deeper into what I actually cared about most.

Why this exists

I didn't set out to build another video chat app. Or a social network. Or a dating site. I saw something that didn't exist yet — a way to connect believers face-to-face, instantly, with no profiles to scroll through and no algorithms optimizing for addiction.

Cartha matches you with another person and gives you two minutes. That's it. If the conversation is good, you extend. If it's not, you move on. Simple.

But underneath that simplicity is a system that learns. Every call you extend, every minute you spend — it feeds back into how we match you next time. The algorithm doesn't optimize for engagement. It optimizes for conversations you actually want to have.

What makes this different

This isn't random. It's not Omegle with a cross on it. The matching system uses over a dozen signals — your conversation history, your faith background, your interests, even how you've connected with similar people before. And it gets smarter every time you use it.

We also built real safety into the foundation. AI moderation on every call. Reporting. Bans. Age verification. This isn't an afterthought — it's the reason we can exist where Omegle couldn't.

Where we are

Early. There are bugs. Features that aren't polished. Things that will break.

But even now, I believe this is the most intentional video chat experience built for our community. A matching system that learns. A messenger to stay connected. A companion AI to help you reflect.

We shipped because waiting for perfect means waiting forever.

What I'm asking

Try it. Give it a few calls — the algorithm needs data before it clicks. Tell us what's broken. Tell us what you love. And if you meet someone great, tell your friends.

This only works when the community grows.
