Do Not Boast in Human Leaders

Servants, Foundation, Temple, and No Boasting · 1 Corinthians 3

Story guide: Worldly self-deception and boasting in leaders must end. All things—including leaders, world, life, death, present, and future—serve the church; the church belongs to Messiah, and Messiah belongs to God.

18Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish, so that he may become wise.

19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.”

20And again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

21So then, let no one boast in people, for all things are yours.

22whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come—all are yours,

23and you are Messiah's, and Messiah is God's.
