Graphic Bible · Scene 3 of 3

A gray-cloaked feminine personification approaches a waiting group from a stone doorway.
Artwork is an interpretation. Wisdom and Injustice are disclosed fictional feminine personifications, not literal historical portraits, deities or authenticated appearances. The anonymous attendants depict angels only as disclosed staging, without named identities, crowns, a throne or vehicle. Architecture, terrain, clothing, light, rain and dew are visual staging, not identified geography or a physical moral mechanism. God remains unpictured. No assigning agent is added to the dwelling clause. Injustice remains the subject of did not want; the image does not reverse that relation into people rejecting her. All exact Scripture and qualifications remain separate. Disclosed ancient-vision landscape and weather staging

Source and translation notes

Source edition: charles-1906-enoch

Selected edited-edition working text. Source review and these notes do not establish human-specialist, independent-manuscript or full-book certification. Selected clauses retain source-critical qualifications; their exact controls and translation notes are preserved below.

Chapter and verse addresses follow the supplied selected-edition POB records. Each available verse is displayed once; artwork does not certify source completeness.

  • 42:1[a] The selected negative says Wisdom found no place to dwell. The following existence clause says her dwelling was in the heavens; it does not name an assigning agent or explicitly say that God assigned it to her. The selected star on that existence verb is retained.
  • 42:2[a] The starred verb can involve taking a seat or mounting; “took her seat” follows its seating sense. The source does not name a throne or a vehicle, and neither is added here.
  • 42:3[a] Her and she follow the selected feminine verbs. In ዘኢፈቀደት, Injustice is the subject of did not want; this is not those who did not want her. Wanted retains the wishing/desire sense, not a substituted seek verb. Those follows the later plural among them. Rain in a wilderness and dew on thirsty earth remain the selected comparisons; no moral or geographic correction is supplied.

3Injustice went out from her storehouses. She found those she had not wanted and dwelt among them, like rain in a wilderness and like dew on thirsty earth.
