- 50:1[a] Dillmann’s1865 lexicon, column216, explicitly cites50:1 for change/transformation (mutatio, immutatio). This word is not silently replaced with mercy or compassion.
- 50:1[b] Charles’s interpolation bracket begins here and continues into verse2. Printed93 note6 calls the passage corrupt or interpolated and brackets it as the latter. The provisional English preserves its distress/evil-storage terms without claiming that the damaged syntax or antiquity is resolved.
- 50:2[a] This closing bracket continues the problematic passage from verse1. The selected form speaks of evil stored up against sinners, but the whole construction is marked corrupt or interpolated by Charles printed93 note6; this is an annotated provisional rendering, not a silent repair from another edition.
- 50:2[b] The selected main text has the showing verb; printed93 note11 records differing forms and a possible corruption. The English retains its unexpressed third-person agent rather than importing a named agent or a different verb.
- 50:3[a] The selected printed text explicitly includes the negativeኢ, no/not; Charles printed93 note14 records its omission in some manuscripts. The negative is retained alongside the following promise of salvation and mercy rather than harmonized away.
- 50:4[a] The selected wording’s coordination of righteous, judgment and before his glory is compressed. This English retains those elements and the following no-standing/no-repentance clauses; it does not claim to resolve every syntactic relation. Charles printed93 notes20-24 record differing readings and a possible repeated phrase.
- 50:5[a] The printed verb is third person; it is not silently changed to I in the quoted declaration. Its negative is also retained rather than reconciled with verse3.
