- 51:1[a] The selected noun means a deposit or entrusted charge, not a womb. Dillmann1865 columns138-139 explicitly cites51:1 under depositum, including entrusted persons as well as things. This does not supply an absent phrase from another text.
- 51:1[b] Sheol is the realm of the dead. Destruction renders the place-of-destruction noun; Dillmann1865 column19 explicitly cites51:1 for that underworld sense (Abaddon), not a separate named being.
- 51:1[c] The debt/restitution verb is supported by Dillmann1865 column1379, which cites51:1 under owing something. All three return clauses are retained.
- 51:3[a] The printed dagger marks a corrupt phrase beginning with from the thought. Charles printed94 note11 proposes different emendations and moving the preposition; none is silently installed here. The awkward expression is preserved in a provisional English construal, not certified as a recovered original reading.
- 51:3[b] The object of has given is not expressed in the selected Ge’ez; it is left as it in English rather than specified as a new gift not stated by the text.
- 51:4[a] The final angels/faces construction is unusual. Charles printed94 notes20 and22 discuss taking angels as the subject and combining the be and shine verbs. This English follows that disclosed syntactic construal; it does not turn the mountains or hills into angels.
- 51:5[a] Charles brackets the final and rejoice as dittography in printed94 note28. It is retained visibly in brackets here, not presented as an uncontested separate clause.
