Graphic Bible · Scene 4 of 11

A vast empty fractured rocky landscape descends toward a dark immense chasm.
Artwork is an interpretation. Scripture is quoted from the People’s Open Bible. Actor identities, apparent ages, costume, house, recording medium, represented counts, landscapes and celestial appearances are artistic choices, not historical, manuscript, archaeological or astronomical evidence. Dream imagery is not an actual disaster. Uncertain critical-edition readings remain disclosed in the POB notes.

4And when it fell upon the earth, I saw the earth being swallowed into a great abyss, and mountains were suspended upon mountains, and hills sank down upon hills, and tall trees were cut off from their trunks and were thrown down and sank into the abyss.
