1Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of the Messiah, and also a sharer in the glory that is about to be revealed:

2Shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion but willingly, according to God; nor for shameful gain, but eagerly.

3not domineering over those allotted to your care, but becoming examples to the flock.

4And when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
