Open this scene in the reader →8He stood and called out to the battle lines of Israel and said to them, “Why do you come out to array yourselves for battle? Am I not the Philistine, and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me.”
9If he is able to fight with me and strike me down, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and strike him down, then you will be our servants and serve us.
10Then the Philistine said, “I have defied the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man, and let us fight together.”
11When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid.
