On the next day, while those men were traveling and drawing near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.

He became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were preparing it, a trance came over him.

and he sees heaven opened, and something like a large sheet descending, being lowered by its four corners to the earth,

In it were all the four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth, and birds of the sky.

And a voice came to him: “Get up, Peter; kill and eat.”

But Peter said, “By no means, Lord, because I have never eaten anything common and unclean.”

And a voice came to him again a second time: “What God has made clean, you must not call common.”

This happened three times, and immediately the vessel was taken up into heaven.
