Colossians 3:18-25
Responsibilities in the Household
The New Life of the Community · Colossians 3
Story guide: Visual essay — artwork is an interpretation. This composite household essay accompanies distinct instructions: wives and husbands (18–19), children and fathers (20–21), servants, sincere work, inheritance, and impartial judgment (22–25). It depicts no recorded family and does not erase the ancient master-servant hierarchy or endorse coercion.

19Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh toward them.
20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord.
21Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they may not become discouraged.
22Servants, obey in everything those who are your masters according to the flesh, not with eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
23Whatever you do, work from the soul, as for the Lord and not for men,
24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Serve the Lord Messiah.
25For the wrongdoer will be repaid for what he has done wrong, and there is no partiality.
