Open this scene in the reader →24If you lend money to my people, to the poor among you, you shall not be like a creditor to him; you shall not impose interest on him.
If you take your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun sets.
For it is his only covering; it is his cloak for his skin. In what will he lie down? And if he cries out to me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.
You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler among your people.
You shall not delay the fullness of your harvest and the outflow of your press. You shall give to me the firstborn of your sons.
You shall do the same with your ox and with your flock: seven days it shall remain with its mother; on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
And you shall be holy men to me. You shall not eat flesh torn in the field; you shall throw it to the dogs.
