Graphic Bible · Scene 1 of 4

Exodus 6:1-9. I will redeem you. Moses speaks gently to discouraged Hebrew brick workers who are too exhausted to listen. In a shaded mudbrick yard, Moses at left leans toward three seated laborers, open hand calm, gnarled staff in the other. His canonical long white hair/beard and crimson mantle over cream robe remain exact. Foreground worker sits slumped elbows on knees and eyes lowered; nearby woman rests beside a basket with weary face, older man leans against wall. Keep unnamed workers different from Moses and Aaron. Unfinished brick stacks, rough woven baskets, a wooden mold; subdued natural daylight, no celebratory expressions. No vision of ancestors, promised land, divine figure or future deliverance enacted. One clear narrative moment based on verse 9. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.

Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he will let them go, and by a strong hand he will drive them out from his land.”

God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am Yahweh.”

And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name, Yahweh, I was not known to them.

I also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land where they lived as sojourners.

And I also have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.

Therefore say to the sons of Israel, ‘I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.’

And I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you will know that I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of Egypt.

And I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you as a possession. I am Yahweh.

So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses because of discouragement and harsh slavery.
