Graphic Bible · Scene 10 of 12

Exodus 9:31-32. The ruined harvest. Ground-level detail of an ancient Egyptian field struck by hail, illustrating the crop distinction. Foreground shattered mature barley stalks with unmistakable long awned grain heads lie flattened in wet soil among snapped slender flax stems bearing tiny buds. At right and farther back, a neighboring patch of low flexible green young wheat and spelt shoots remains upright, not mature golden heads. Small white hailstones lie in muddy puddles, gray storm light, a blurred low mudbrick farm wall and palms in the far distance. Botanical forms legible, quiet documentary detail in the same hand-inked painterly gouache graphic-novel style. No people, labels, text, modern equipment, locusts or extra plagues. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.
