And at the end of seven days, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; and you shall hear a word from my mouth and warn them from me.

When I say to the wicked man, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you do not warn him, and you do not speak to warn the wicked man from his wicked way so that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood from your hand.

But if you warn a wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your life.

And when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and I place a stumbling block before him, he will die. Because you did not warn him, he will die in his sin, and his righteous deeds that he did will not be remembered; and I will require his blood from your hand.

But if you warn a righteous man not to sin, and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have delivered your life.
