And Yahweh appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, while he was sitting at the entrance of the tent in the heat of the day.

He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing near him. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed down to the ground.

And he said, “My lord, if I have found favor in your eyes, please do not pass by your servant.”

Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

And let me bring a morsel of bread, so that you may refresh your hearts; after that you may pass on, since this is why you have passed by your servant. And they said, “Yes, do as you have said.”

So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quickly, knead three seahs of fine flour and make cakes.”

And Abraham ran to the herd and took a tender and good calf and gave it to the young man, and he hurried to prepare it.

Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared, and set it before them. He stood by them under the tree while they ate.
