Open this scene in the reader →17Then King Zedekiah sent and had him brought, and the king questioned him privately in his house, and said, “Is there any word from Yahweh?” Jeremiah said, “There is.” Then he said, “You will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon.”
18Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “What have I sinned against you, against your servants, and against this people, that you have put me into the prison?”
19And where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, ‘The king of Babylon will not come against you or against this land’?”
20So now, please hear, my lord the king; please let my plea fall before you, and do not send me back to the house of Jehonathan the scribe, lest I die there.
