Then all the commanders of the forces approached, along with Yohanan son of Kareah and Yizaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest.

And they said to Jeremiah the prophet, “Please let our plea come before you, and pray for us to Yahweh your God, for all this remnant, for we are left as few out of many, as your eyes see us.”

that Yahweh your God may tell us the way in which we should walk, and the thing that we should do.

Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, “I have heard. Behold, I am praying to Yahweh your God according to your words, and whatever Yahweh answers you, I will tell you. I will not withhold a word from you.”

And they said to Jeremiah, “May Yahweh be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not act according to all the word that Yahweh your God sends to us through you.”

Whether it is good or whether it is bad, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we are sending you, so that it may go well with us when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.
