The counsel of Teman

Concerning Edom: Thus says Yahweh of hosts: Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom become corrupted?

Flee, turn back, dwell deep, inhabitants of Dedan, for I have brought Esau’s calamity upon him, the time when I punish him.

If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, they would destroy only enough for themselves.

For I have stripped Esau bare; I have uncovered his hiding places, and he will not be able to hide himself. His offspring, his brothers, and his neighbors are destroyed, and he is no more.

Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive. And let your widows trust in me.
