I have spoken these things to you so that you may not fall away.

They will make you outcasts from the synagogues; indeed, an hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God.

And they will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

But I have spoken these things to you so that when their hour comes, you may remember that I told you. But I did not tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

But now I am going to the one who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

But I am telling you the truth: it is better for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will certainly not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

And when that one comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment.

concerning sin, because they do not believe in me;

and concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer see me.

and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak from himself, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are coming.

He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

Everything that the Father has is mine. That is why I said that he takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.
