Graphic Bible · Scene 6 of 6

John 7:45-53
Nicodemus Speaks
At the Feast · John 7
Story guide: Nicodemus asks whether their law judges a man before hearing him. The council setting and recognizable high-priestly-family figures are reconstruction; this passage names Nicodemus, not the other members.
Open this scene in the reader →45So the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring him?”
46The officers answered, “Never has a man spoken like this.”
47So the Pharisees answered them, “Have you also been led astray?”
48Has any one of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?
49But this crowd, which does not know the law, is accursed.
50Nicodemus, the one who had come to him earlier, being one of them, said to them,
51Our law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?
52They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”
53And each went to his own home.
