Graphic Bible · Scene 2 of 13

At first light inside the sanctuary courtyard, a priest wearing a full white linen tunic with linen undergarment discreetly covered beneath it uses a bronze shovel to lift cool pale ashes from the broad altar and place them in one tidy mound beside the altar. Low embers remain. No nudity, animal remains, blood, gore, or modern tools.
