Open this scene in the reader →1Then he said to his disciples, “It is impossible for stumbling blocks not to come, but woe to the one through whom they come.”
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Pay attention to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he reorients himself, forgive him.
And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, ‘I am changing my ways,’ you shall forgive him.
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
But which of you, having a servant plowing or shepherding, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at the table’?
On the contrary, will he not say to him, ‘Prepare my supper, and gird yourself and serve me until I have eaten and drunk, and after that you will eat and drink’?”
Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded?
So also you, when you have done all that was commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have done what we were obligated to do.’
