When he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observable signs,”

Nor will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘There!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Then he said to the disciples, “Days are coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.”

And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go away or run after them.

For just as lightning, flashing from one part under heaven to the other part under heaven, shines, so will the Son of Man be in his day.

But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.

They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Likewise, just as it happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, and building.

but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all.

It will be the same on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

On that day, whoever is on the housetop, with his belongings in the house, must not go down to take them away; and likewise, the one in the field must not turn back to the things behind.

Remember Lot's wife.

Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will preserve it alive.

I tell you, on that night there will be two on one bed; one will be taken, and the other will be left.

There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken, but the other will be left.

Two men will be in the field; one will be taken, and the other will be left.

And answering, they say to him, “Where, Lord?” And he said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered.”
