A Dishonored Altar

6A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If, then, I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the fear due me? says the LORD of Armies to you, O priests who despise my name. Yet you say, “How have we despised your name?”

7By presenting defiled food on my altar. But you say, “How have we defiled you?” By saying, “The table of Yahweh is despised.”

8When you present a blind animal for sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you present one that is lame or sick, is that not evil? Present it, please, to your governor. Will he accept you, or show you favor? says Yahweh of hosts.

9And now, entreat God for favor, that he may be gracious to us. From your hand has this come; will he show favor to any of you? says Yahweh of hosts.
