Open this scene in the reader →13And this second thing you do: you cover the altar of Yahweh with tears, with weeping and groaning, because he no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand.
14But you say, “Why?” Because Yahweh has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been unfaithful, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
15Did not the one God make them? Yet a remnant of the Spirit was his. And what was the one seeking? Godly offspring. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
16For he hates divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and the one who covers his garment with violence, says Yahweh of Armies. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not act faithlessly.
