Open this scene in the reader →35And Jesus answered and said, as he was teaching in the temple, “How do the scribes say that the Messiah is the son of David?”
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.”’
David himself calls him Lord, so how is he his son? And the large crowd was listening to him gladly.
And in his teaching he was saying, “Beware of the scribes who want to walk around in long robes and receive greetings in the marketplaces,”
and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets,
who devour widows’ houses and for appearance’s sake pray at length—these will receive greater condemnation.
