For we are consumed by your anger, and by your wrath we are terrified.

You have set our iniquities before you, our hidden sins in the light of your face.

For all our days pass away in your wrath; we finish our years like a sigh.

Our years amount to seventy, or eighty if we have the strength; yet their best is toil and trouble, for it quickly passes, and we fly away.

Who knows the power of your anger and your wrath according to the fear due to you?
