Over the Hills

Rise Up and Come Away · Song of Songs 2

Story guide: The woman suddenly hears her beloved and imagines his approach as leaping over hills. Notice the gazelle bounding ahead of the distant man. The animal lends speed and liveliness to her description; the picture joins an approaching person with a comparison rather than turning the beloved into a literal gazelle.
