An Orchard of Spices

A Locked Garden and Living Water · Song of Songs 4

Story guide: The beloved expands the garden comparison into a profusion of fruit and aromatic plants. Notice the pomegranates, blossoms, and spices crowding the picture. Their variety gives sensory form to his admiration: the long list celebrates abundance and delight rather than supplying a botanical inventory of a particular garden.
