Song of Songs 5:12

Eyes by Water

The Door and the Missing Beloved · Song of Songs 5

Story guide: The woman compares the beloved's eyes with doves beside water, adding the whiteness of milk. Notice the birds, flowing stream, and pale vessel together. The still life lets softness, clarity, and light carry her description, rather than asking you to imagine literal birds or milk inside his eyes.
