1 Corinthians 2:6-9
Wisdom Hidden from the Rulers
The Cross, Hidden Wisdom, and the Mind of Messiah · 1 Corinthians 2
Open this scene in the reader →6Yet we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing.
7But we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom that God predestined before the ages for our glory.
8which none of the rulers of this age has known, for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9But just as it is written, “What no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and what has not entered into the heart of man—what God has prepared for those who love him.”
About this artwork
The mature receive a wisdom unlike the passing wisdom of the age and its rulers. God’s once-hidden purpose centers on the Lord of glory whom the rulers crucified and on good beyond unaided sight, hearing, or imagination.
