Graphic Bible · Scene 3 of 16

Exodus 12:8-11. Eat in haste. Editorial illustration of the first Passover meal instructions. Inside one humble mudbrick Hebrew home at night, a household of four stands closely around a low wooden serving surface eating in haste: two adults, an elderly woman and a fully clothed child. Plain undyed linen garments firmly belted at waist, sandals visibly on feet; adults hold wooden traveling staffs in one hand while eating with the other. On the surface a whole fire-roasted lamb with head and legs intact, browned cooked food not bloody, thin unleavened flatbreads and a shallow bowl of bitter leafy herbs. Small clay oil lamp gives warm light, closed doorway and clay jars behind. Natural hands, no modern utensils, ornate holiday tableware or later ritual objects. Dignified urgency, hand-inked gouache graphic novel, no text, deity or death scene. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.

8They shall eat the meat that night, roasted over the fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.

9Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but only roasted over the fire, with its head, its legs, and its inner parts.

10You shall not leave any of it until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire.

11And this is how you shall eat it: with your waist belted, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You shall eat it in haste; it is the Passover of Yahweh.
