Graphic Bible · Scene 4 of 16

Exodus 12:12-13. A sign on the houses. Editorial illustration of the promised protection of a marked Hebrew house at night. Quiet narrow mudbrick lane in ancient Egypt, focal closed wooden doorway with restrained dark reddish blood marks separately on both doorposts and lintel. Very faint warm household lamplight visible only through a narrow door crack, cool dark blue night around the house, no person outside. A clay water jar and woven basket beside the wall, stillness and shelter conveyed through composition. No angel, destroyer, deity, shadow creature, magical shield or beam, no dead bodies, no cross-shaped marks. One cinematic single scene in tactile hand-inked gouache, no captions or lettering. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.

12For I will pass through the land of Egypt on this night, and I will strike every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from man to beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments. I am Yahweh.

13And the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will be among you to destroy, when I strike the land of Egypt.
