Graphic Bible · Scene 1 of 7

Exodus 4:1-5. The staff becomes a serpent. The same elder Moses recoils and steps back in alarm from a single natural snake on stony ground at Horeb. Both his empty hands clearly visible, palms raised. IMPORTANT narrative transformation: the usual staff has become this snake, so NO wooden staff anywhere in this frame despite the standard character description. Retain face, white hair, beard, crimson mantle and cream robe from reference 1. Barefoot with removed sandals by a rock. The intact burning bush remains in the distant left background, reference 2 fixes location and style. Low wide angle with snake foreground and Moses full body midground; natural snake with no humanoid features or horns. No other person or visible deity. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.
Artwork is an interpretation. Scripture is quoted from the People's Open Bible.

3And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a snake, and Moses fled from it.

4Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take hold of its tail.” So he reached out his hand and took hold of it, and it became a staff in his hand.
