Graphic Bible · Scene 3 of 7

Exodus 4:10-17. A voice beside him. Moses listens with troubled humility beside the living burning bush at Horeb. New medium environmental composition: he leans slightly forward over the gnarled staff held in both hands at waist height, eyebrows knit, mouth slightly parted as he expresses his difficulty speaking. Preserve elder face and clothes from reference 1, location and ink-and-gouache style from reference 2. Bare feet on rocky ground, removed sandals nearby; bush at frame left illuminates him. No Aaron physically present yet, no other people, no divine human figure. The promised assistance is conveyed by attached Scripture, not a vision or second figure. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.

Then Moses said to Yahweh, “Please, Lord, I am not a man of words, neither yesterday nor the day before, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am heavy of mouth and heavy of tongue.”

And the LORD said to him, “Who has put a mouth on man? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or sighted, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?”

Now go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.

But he said, “Please, my Lord, send by the hand of whomever you will send.”

Then Yahweh’s anger burned against Moses, and he said, “Is there not Aaron your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. And also, look, he is coming out to meet you; when he sees you, he will rejoice in his heart.”

You shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth, and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will instruct you what you shall do.

He will speak to the people for you, and he will be as a mouth for you, and you will be as God to him.

And take this staff in your hand, with which you will perform the signs.
