Graphic Bible · Scene 8 of 11

Exodus 8:20-20. The swarm arrives. A heavy swarm of natural small dark flies afflicts an Egyptian palace courtyard. Foreground two unnamed servants in plain white linen cover clay water and food jars with woven lids while brushing flies from their faces. Flies are visible against bright plaster and on jars, concentrated enough to convey distress while keeping faces readable. In the shaded doorway behind them Pharaoh, recognizable blue-and-gold nemes and white linen, watches with a rigid troubled expression. Ochre plaster and a pair of cylindrical Egyptian columns with restrained blue-red painted motifs, consistent palace architecture. Courtyard medium-wide composition, no Moses or Aaron, no fantastical insects, no text. The flies are larger than the previous scene gnats but remain naturally small. Bronze Age Exodus setting, not first-century staging. One 16:9 single scene. No text or lettering.
