Open this scene in the reader →1After these things, the cupbearer of the king of Egypt and the baker sinned against their master, the king of Egypt.
And Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, with the chief cupbearer and with the chief baker.
And he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison house, the place where Joseph was confined.
So the captain of the guard assigned Joseph to them, and he attended them; and they were in custody for some time.
And the two of them dreamed a dream, each man his own dream, in one night, each according to the interpretation of his dream—the cupbearer and the baker who belonged to the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison house.
Joseph came to them in the morning and saw them, and behold, they were troubled.
So he asked Pharaoh’s officials who were with him in custody in his master’s house, saying, “Why are your faces downcast today?”
They said to him, “We have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it.” Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”
