Open this scene in the reader →9So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph and said to him, “In my dream, behold, a vine was before me.”
and on the vine were three branches. As it was budding, its blossoms came up, and its clusters ripened into grapes.
Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes and squeezed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I placed the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.
Then Joseph said to him, “This is its interpretation: the three branches are three days.”
In three more days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position, and you will place Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, according to the former custom when you were his cupbearer.
But if you remember me when it goes well for you, please show kindness to me, and mention me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house.
For I was indeed kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing that they should put me in the pit.
