So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man they are seeking to kill?”

And look, he is speaking openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers truly know that this is the Messiah?

But we know where this man is from; but when the Messiah comes, no one knows where he is from.

So Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You know me, and you know where I am from. And I have not come from myself, but the one who sent me is true, whom you do not know.”

I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.

So they were seeking to seize him, yet no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

But many from the crowd believed in him, and they were saying, “When the Messiah comes, he will not do more signs than this man has done, will he?”

The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize him.

So Jesus said, “I am with you a little while longer, and I am going to the one who sent me.”

You will seek me and will not find me, and where I am, you are not able to come.

So the Jews said to one another, “Where is this man about to go, that we will not find him? He is not about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, is he?”

What is this statement that he said, ‘You will seek me and will not find me, and where I am, you are not able to come’?”
