Matthew 13:24-30
Let Both Grow Together
Parables of the Kingdom · Matthew 13
Story guide: Premature pulling would damage the wheat, so separation waits until harvest.
Open this scene in the reader →24He set another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.”
25But while people were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.
26But when the plants had sprouted and produced grain, then the weeds also appeared.
27So the servants of the master of the house came to him and said, ‘Lord, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where then do the weeds come from?’
28He said to them, “An enemy did this.” Then the servants said to him, “So do you want us to go and gather them up?”
29But he said, ‘No, lest while gathering the weeds you uproot the wheat along with them.’
30Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will tell the reapers, ‘First collect the weeds and tie them into bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my storehouse.’
