Mountain of Myrrh

A Locked Garden and Living Water · Song of Songs 4

Story guide: The beloved speaks of fragrant hills as the light changes, then declares the woman altogether beautiful. Notice the aromatic resin and rising incense against the distant ridge. The landscape gathers desire and fragrance into one image; his declaration expresses complete admiration rather than an objective judgment of bodily perfection.

6Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, I will go to the mountain of myrrh and to the hill of frankincense.

7You are altogether beautiful, my beloved, and there is no blemish in you.
